Dusk

A spear of lightning stabs my shriveled heart.

It twists and turns from left to right.

The nights lengthen with unceasing want.

My spirit plummets without hope or regard.

My lips shake and my hands tremble at the frozen light.

My sight blurs in the middle of the fight.

Pain dwells deep within where the soul begins.

Yell I must yet my tongue can hardly move or impinge.

Tears trickle down my sea of despair.

My chest explodes a thousand times without any air.

Ashes die and dirt turns to dust.

I fade into the abyss of dusk.
